Chapter 152: Running away

Shen Jufeng observed her expression: “It’s a very interesting phenomenon, isn’t it.”

Lu Jiu stared at him blankly for a while, then nodded slowly, “It’s very interesting, I’ll get used to it.”

He then said seriously: “If you can’t be a city lord who is not stained with any blood, then be a city lord who is feared by evil people.”

Snowflakes were flying, and the cold wind passed by, carrying her words into the distance.

Yao Bingan was the only one left in the house, and both of them were quite shocked by this incident.

She rubbed her forehead and said to Li Aoting: “The deputy captain who contacted us is planning to come here. The other residents have scattered, and we don’t know where they will go.”

“Are they the only ones? Fortunately, it is winter now. They are far away from Xuantian City, so not many people will follow them.”

At least during that chaos, the deputy captain and the other team members stayed as far away from the battlefield as possible and told them the details of what happened immediately.

At the very least, they were much better than the people in the Red Wolf Squad who stirred up all this chaos.

“He said that only some ordinary residents followed them, not professional ones, because the distance to Jinjiang District is longer than to other city-states, and now everyone just wants to find a place to stay.”

“For ordinary residents, that’s okay, but now everyone has a small speaker, and I’m worried about what kind of trouble this will cause if word gets out.”

Yao Bingan understands her worries. This was something that everyone who knows about this matter is worried about: “This matter will spread. They are moving in such a harsh winter season, and there are so many people. Anyone will inquire.”

Even if these people are tight-lipped and don’t say anything for a while, they can’t tell what will happen in the future.

Li Aoting sighed: “This is inevitable. Since the game world is set like this, if He Ange doesn’t die today, there will be others in the future. Many people lost themselves for power, but some will still step into this pit of fire.”

There was no doubt that He Ange’s death was not unjust.

Yao Bingan felt a little tired: “I’m still a little confused, but people have to adapt to the environment, I understand.”

No matter how bad things get, life has to go on.

The residents of Longjiao City were all scattered. Most of the ordinary residents took enough supplies for their use and left in a hurry.

The professional residents were more confident and gathered around to collect supplies frantically. Even if some items were of poor quality, they were still equipment that could be used, so someone would be willing to buy them.

Sun Ming left with his team early. Before leaving, he saw that the light spot had disappeared and almost broke his teeth.

After all the hard work, he didn’t get what he wanted the most.

Mountains of supplies were harvested in a short period. The city-state where Longjiao City was originally located has turned into a plain. As for what will become of this place in the future, no one knows.

They won’t come back anyway.

The deputy captain and others had left long ago, and the group braved the wind and snow to move forward.

Many ordinary people who had bought supplies from the deputy captain before were following behind them, but they were worried about others.

The deputy captain walked at the front, surrounded by darkness, and the wind outside was too strong. He could only touch the darkness in front of him. When he felt that the distance was enough, he turned back and shouted: “Let’s stop for now, set up a tent and rest, and continue walking tomorrow.”

They walked for more than two hours after leaving Longjiao City.

Everyone was relieved and could finally rest.

After the tent was pitched, everyone stayed in the tent to warm themselves up by the fire. They didn’t even bother to cook and simply ate some rice balls.

“Deputy Captain, how many days will it take for us to travel like this?” Someone in the team asked.

He thought about the current wind and snow and the fact that they were walking, “It will probably take 3 or 4 days, or even longer. This kind of weather is not good for cycling, and the walking speed is not fast.”

The person who heard this felt a little depressed.

The deputy captain continued to warn: “If you encounter wild monsters, ordinary people get together. Having a large number is also a strength. I’m afraid we won’t be able to take care of you all the time.”

This was the wilderness. At the beginning of the end of the world, everyone has experienced wandering days without city-states to live in.

“We understand this, and when we left, we took some potions to replenish our HP.”

The deputy captain nodded. It was good to know how to take life-saving things. Even in times of crisis, they can drink potions to save their lives.

After talking about some precautions, everyone went back to their tents to rest, and the professional players took turns to watch the night.

After everyone had left, the deputy captain sat down next to his family and took out some medicine bottles, as well as several small bottles containing elixirs.

He bought them for Yao Bingan.

“Keep these potions away. If a wild monster comes, keep them in your hands and be ready to drink them at any time.”

He has given medicines to my family before, but the medicines sold in Xuantian City are more effective.

He handed several pills to several people: “This pill is for each person. No matter what, you must ensure that your HP is above 30%.”

The old couple put away the medicine, and then asked with a worried tone: “How many medicines do you have on you?”

The deputy captain knew that his parents were worried about him, “Don’t worry, I have enough supplies. I have to live well for you.”

He was the only professional player in the family. If he dies, the safety of his family during the relocation will not be that safe.

Finally, the family sat together, and the deputy captain held the family’s hands tightly. No material or equipment was better than having family members by your side.

The snow stopped today. Lu Jiu opened the curtains and saw the soft sunlight shining on a patch of snow.

She was now in much better spirits after digesting the information she learned yesterday.

She quickly put on her clothes. The snow had stopped, and the sun was still out, which made it much easier for them to go out and clear the fields. They always wore goggles. Although they were waterproof and fog-proof, it was better not to wear them at all.

Zhuang Yun prepared lunch for his daughter and went out.

He learned that He Ange was killed yesterday. After putting his daughter to sleep, he put most of his good equipment at home overnight. He used to think that it would be safest to keep it with him, but now he was afraid it was no longer the case.

When he went out, he saw Lu Jiu with rosy and plump cheeks. The words of comfort he originally wanted to say were stuck in his throat, and finally turned into a ‘good morning’.

“Good morning.” Lu Jiu greeted him with a smile.

Shen Jufeng opened the door and saw two teammates waiting at the door. Although the snow had stopped, he was wearing thicker clothes than before.

Lu Jiu was a little surprised to see his upright figure blocked by a thick down jacket: “Before, it was so windy and the snow was so thick, but I never see you wearing a jacket. What happened today?”

Shen Jufeng just straightened his collar and glanced at her: “Have you ever heard that it’s colder when it stops snowing than when it starts to snow?”

Lu Jiu decided not to say more to him.

They got up quite early today. When they went downstairs, they saw people setting up stalls. They wonder if the snow stopped in the middle of the night. The snow on the streets was not as thick as the previous days.

Because the weather has improved, more teams have come out to clear the fields than before.

They also met Yao Bingan and others, and everyone nodded in agreement as if they had forgotten what they said yesterday.

  1. Yay, it’s back!

With the weather improving, maybe the pro teams could have helped clear more mobs in the direction of the fallen city to give the refugees more of a chance to get there intact.
