Chapter 4: Skill cards

Lu Jiu looked at the card in her hand. There was a drawn character reaching out to pick up something. At the top of the card was the word ‘collector’.

Skill cards, she has read some novels related to cards, but she didn’t expect to hold one in her hand right now.

However, this was completely incomparable with the card that can kill in the novel Quartet.

This should be the most popular card. Most cards in sight were white, and a light blue card can be seen occasionally.

It was common sense that rare things were less in number. Lu Jiu didn’t hesitate to walk towards the light blue card.

In a large area of white cards, this light blue one was too conspicuous.

After getting the card, she saw the system prompt again: [Congratulations on getting the skill—that is: Archer skill, 100% hit the target and cannot be dodged, plus 20% crit damage.]

“It seems to be used by shooters, but unfortunately I don’t have a weapon.” Looking at the introduction, she knew that this was a top-level skill. Maybe she can use it when she gets a weapon in the future.

Skill cards can be stored in the item column of the backpack without the need to learn them for the time being. It was convenient to have a backpack. Otherwise, who knows if someone will rob her?

Immediately afterward, Lu Jiu continued to take the cards emitting white light. She had to figure out what were these groups of light cards. If she got more cards, she might be able to trade them.

Lu Jiu stretched her hand and randomly took one. The system prompts: [Congratulations to the player for obtaining the attribute bonus physical strength +11.]

This made her stunned for a moment. She originally thought that these cards were just about some random skill cards, she didn’t expect to get additional attributes, so the more she get the better!

After that, she got more attribute bonuses, followed by various learnable skill cards. The small area where she moved was gradually vacated.

On the way, Lu Jiu checked her personal information again.

Name: Lu Jiu (name can be changed)

Gender: Female

Vitality: 220

Attack: 32-58

Stamina: 25 (13)

Defense:10 (+10)

Agility: 5

Professional Title: None

Those white cards made her gain a lot. In addition to attribute points, she also got two kinds of skill cards, Collector and Blacksmith, but these have duplicate cards, among which the Collector card has the most.

After walking for a while, Lu Jiu made sure that she wouldn’t feel too hot wearing this suit.

She also saw cards on the road, but they were all white as far as her eyes could see. She didn’t stop, she just took the ones that came in handy.

Now the most important thing was to find the cards with other colors. She doesn’t t know how many colors there were at the moment, so there was no need to waste too much time on the white ball cards.

But the more she walked, the more she was shocked. The collapsed buildings seemed to be much less, and she finally saw other people in the area.

People in rags gathered together, while some group of people was grabbing those light ball cards. Lu Jiu didn’t disturb their harvest.

Further on, she found more and more people were coming. Compared with the embarrassment of other people, Lu Jiu, who was clean and refreshing, was particularly conspicuous.

At this time, someone came forward to talk to her, and it was a fat middle-aged woman who came: “Little girl, did you see the rescue team from over there?”

Lu Jiu slightly frowned and shook her head: “I haven’t seen the troops at all. I escaped from home and went to the police station, but there is no one there, and many houses collapsed.”

The Aunt nodded when she heard the words, and then turned her gaze back to Lu Jiu. Seeing that she was clean, she asked, “Little girl, have you found a clothing store and changed your clothes? Can you show me where it is?”

Lu Jiu was a little embarrassed. It was the equipment in her game backpack. How could she point out the location? But in order not to cause trouble for herself, she still pointed to the direction where she came from.

“I walked two or three kilometers over there. I was lucky enough to find a change of clothes there. I couldn’t help it. The clothes I was wearing before were worn out that I couldn’t wear them anymore.”

There were indeed two or three women’s clothing stores in the place Lu Jiu pointed out, but whether she can find clothes depended on the aunt’s luck.

“Okay, okay, thank you, girl.” The Aunt gave her a big smile.

She also has no choice. There were too many people in the city, and the wearable clothes that can be found in the ruins of the clothing store were already taken by others. She can only try her luck in a farther place.

As for the food? Anyway, after a short rest, she won’t be hungry automatically, so why bother? It was better to find some clothes first.

The Aunt took a girl with her when she left, and a middle-aged man followed. It should be a family of three, which was lucky.

After the family of three left, some people also followed. It seems that everyone was not so keen on finding food to replenish their energy.

“The situation is too strange. Let’s go to the police.”

“Yes, let’s look for them. Either I’m confused, or I can’t really contact the people at the city hall.”

“What the hell, trees and mountains are coming out of nowhere.”

Many people gathered together to complain, while some people slowly began to disperse. They were very interested in those light ball cards.

“Ah! I got good stuff!”

Hearing this voice, everyone gathered instinctively. Lu Jiu looked over and found that it was a young man, who looked only 17-18 years old.

“Transformation, a passive skill, can absorb 50% of the damage and turn it into your own HP.”

Everyone was amazed when they heard this. Some people even wondered: “Could it be that our world is really gamified?”

Lu Jiu frowned when she heard this. It was not a peaceful society now. It was too eye-catching for the young man to speak out loud the skill card in public.

When she thought of this, a malicious bald man approached the young man and patted him on the shoulder, “Young man, sell me this card.”

The young man came back to his senses, and immediately put the card into his backpack: “I won’t sell it, you can find it by yourself.”

After speaking, he turned around and ran away. The bald man failed to catch him. The crowd stared at the young man’s back like the bald man, while others turned around and continued to collect the light cards.

Lu Jiu also left immediately, she had to go to a place with fewer people to try her luck.

After walking for half a day, her physical strength was only 3 points. It was too little, she had to rest in place and not move.

Lu Jiu stopped and took out two rice balls to eat, instantly replenishing 20 points of her physical strength.

Just as she was about to leave after eating, she saw a child sticking out half of her head behind a broken wall not far away, staring at her blankly.

Seeing Lu Jiu looking over, she immediately lowered her head to hide. But after a few seconds, she raised her head to look over again.

Lu Jiu couldn’t help smiling, she always liked cute little boys and girls: “Are you alone, where are your parents?”

When the little girl heard Lu Jiu’s words, she replied softly: “Dad went to find something to eat. An An is waiting for Daddy here.”

Lu Jiu understood it. She didn’t see a single light card in this area. She doesn’t know whether it didn’t land here or was taken away by the child’s father.

Anyway, she was worried about a little girl staying here alone, “Then sister will stand here and wait for your father to come back, okay?”

She won’t scare the kids by standing where she was. After all, she was just a stranger.

“Okay.” The little girl said crisply.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long before she saw a man approaching. The child named An An immediately ran over and hugged the man’s thigh, “Dad, you’re back.”

The man picked up An An and saw Lu Jiu.

“I don’t mean anything malicious, I just don’t feel at ease seeing the child here alone.”

“I understand. Thank you for accompanying my daughter. I didn’t see anyone else here, so I let her stay temporarily.” He was worried that there was chaos outside. It would be bad if there was a conflict and the child would get injured.
