Chapter 19: Dragon Hunting (Part 2)

In his live broadcast room, some viewers who studied zoology bluntly said: [Ordinary hedgehogs can’t grow so big, and hedgehogs are not close to humans. They are very timid and will be scared away by any movement. This is a paranormal event!]

Gu Zhisang didn’t know the hot discussion in the live broadcast room on both sides, if she knew, she would just smile indifferently.

Because she knew that the big hedgehog next to Bai Ci was at best a spirit who had only practiced Taoism, so it couldn’t be called an “immortal family”;

That Bai Ci was not some kind of immortal, and the real “White Immortal” was someone else.

She stood at the head of the village, and when she saw the flag with the logo of the “Spiritual Affairs” program group planted there, she knew she had found the right place.

Poshi Village was really near the air inlet of Longmai.

Gu Zhisang was still holding a compass in her hand, and for some reason, the magnetic needle on the surface shook more the closer it was to the dilapidated village gate of Poshi Village. As if there was some kind of aura disturbing the magnetic field around it.

It stands to reason that the ‘Longkou’ swallows qi and vomits turbidity, which most likely place to emerge from the Feng Shui Treasure Cave. However, although the qi was circulating, this place was very poor.

Without waiting for her to investigate, the staff stepped forward and said, “Contestant No. 7 Gu Zhisang, you are the first contestant to come to the entrance of the village, you will be given 1 point according to the rules of the competition. Please go to the waiting area to rest for a while, and wait for other contestants. Once the contestants have arrived, you will enter the village.”

When Gu Zhisang entered the shed built by the program group, she could see villagers near the village entrance, observing them.

It was a modern society, but the villagers in this group of mountains still seem to have lived tens or hundreds of years ago, wearing loose-cut short jackets and trousers. The men were carrying poles and the women were wearing headscarves, looking dusty.

Silent and lifeless, this was the first impression that popped up in her mind about this village.

Director Li Chenghe approached with his hands behind his back, and his tone was slightly doggy: “As expected of Master Gu, I knew you must be number one!”

Ever since she solved Gao Zhi’s problem, and she made him see a ghost, he has become a secret fan of Gu Zhisang.

Sometimes when he saw a bad review about Gu Zhisang on the Internet, he would fight while cutting the trumpet, and at the same time secretly thought in his heart that these people didn’t know how powerful Master Gu was!

He lowered his voice and said, “Master Gu, don’t you think the people in this village are a bit strange? And their eyes are scary?”

Gu Zhisang: “???”

“Isn’t this the location chosen by your program group?”

Li Chenghe smiled awkwardly. He found this Popo village by accident when he was selecting the site on the Internet and screening materials. Some local people said that there was a group of people who claimed to be the guardians of Popo Mountain. They lived in the mountains all very mysterious year round.

In the beginning, the program team searched for this village in the mountains for two days.

After finally finding it, the most prestigious “mother” in the village agreed to let them go to the village to shoot. Li Chenghe was full of excitement. But he didn’t expect that when they came, the villagers would look at them with such eyes.

Not long after, Xun Yiqing was the third to arrive at the entrance of the village, and when he saw Gu Zhisang and Bai Ci who were already waiting there, he frowned, looking unhappy.

Contestant No. # 9 He Mitu was fourth, Contestant No. # 10 Xi Haihong and Contestant No. # 6 Daisy arrived at the village entrance almost at the same time before sunset, while the remaining three contestants failed to complete the first round of challenges and were deducted points.

[Contestant No. # 3 Old Monk Grandpa looked very strong, but he ended up at the bottom several times…]

[I laughed to death. Contestant No. # 5, the rich second generation came here to be funny. He ran to another village to find a guide who would lead the way, and said that he would pay as much as he could to bring him to Poshi Village, and was directly arrested by the program team.]

[Contestant No. # is even more fun, he said that he can summon and let the ghosts and gods be the guide, but he was led directly to the other side of the mountain!]

Host Liu said: “It’s six o’clock in the afternoon, and the sky is getting dark. The nine contestants have all arrived at the entrance of Poshi Village, and they are ready to enter the village for observation.”

“Whether they can see what happened in this village or not, we will wait and see.”

After speaking, the two middle-aged men standing at the entrance of the village opened the village gate, and a group of people walked in.

The infrastructure in the village was not complete. Almost all of them were made of mud-and-tiled one-story houses. When the program team entered, the villagers stood far away at the door of the house or looked out from the window.

That kind of gaze was not friendly, and it made everyone feel terrified.

Gu Zhisang glanced down at the compass in her hand, the pointer on it was completely messed up, and it kept making circles on the dial.

She found that the soil of this village in the auspicious place of “Longkou” was gray, the weeds on both sides of the house were sparse, and the face and eyes of every villager were foggy and lifeless, which was strange.

Among the crowd was a girl who was sucking her fingers, with crooked braids and a dirty little face;

She was one of the few villagers with bright eyes. Standing next to her mother, she looks timidly and curiously at the cameras carried by the program staff.

“Mom, that black box…”

She pointed at the camera as if she wanted to take a closer look, but the mother next to her suddenly changed her face, pulled the little girl behind her, and slapped the child hard with her backhand.

“Who told you to look at that thing? Who allowed you to look over there?!”

The little girl was beaten to the point of crying, causing the program team to look at each other. Li Chenghe said, “Here… whoever brought snacks and candies, share them with the folks…”

Before he finished speaking, the man in the back room heard the movement and walked out, then saw his crying daughter and the frightened wife, and looked at the bewildered program group. He realized something.

‘Hatred’ appeared on his face, he stared at the group of outsiders and the cameras in front of him, and suddenly picked up a hammer and rushed towards him.

“You group of outsiders are here to harm us again!”

The man spoke a local dialect, but everyone could tell that he hated outsiders very much. With a ‘click’ sound, the lens of one of the cameras was chopped into pieces with a hammer.

Li Chenghe and others rushed forward to stop him, his eyes widened in anxiety, “What are you doing, fellow!”

One must know that this camera cost hundreds of thousands, and his heart would bleed if it was smashed.

He regretted it. If he had known this early on, he wouldn’t come to suffer in this remote mountain village just because of the legend of Popo Mountain.

The other villagers who watched coldly saw the people from the program team and surrounded them with expressions of displeasure. Seeing that the group of people was about to have conflicts before they entered the village, a hoarse voice sounded from a distance:

“Enough, what’s the trouble!”

The villagers lowered their heads one after another when they saw the people coming, and the man who smashed it also respectfully called out “Mother”.

Gu Zhisang narrowed her phoenix eyes slightly and looked at the old woman wearing ethnic costumes and gold and silver ornaments.

The old lady was short and stooped, leaning on a wooden crutch.

The skin on her face was like dry old tree bark, and her white hair of pure silver was enough to show her age.

What made Gu Zhisang concerned was that she couldn’t see the life and fortune on the old woman’s face, which should have been hidden by some special metaphysical means. She must be a ‘wizard’.

The man was still emotional, pointing at the group of program group and yelling in the local dialect, but the old woman slammed her crutches and sternly stopped him, “You still want to be fierce, do you want to miss the auspicious time?!”

She turned her head and looked at everyone coldly, then switched to Mandarin: “Don’t you guys want to shoot a show? Then come in.”

Li Chenghe wanted to ask about the compensation for the damaged lens, but looking at the surrounding villagers, he swallowed it bitterly.

The audience in the live broadcast room was also blown up by this scene:

[It’s too scary, rushing up and smashing for no reason, what if he hurt someone? How did the program team choose the location!]

[The people in this village give me a bad feeling, it turns out that there are troublemakers out of poor mountains and rivers!]
