Chapter 66: Bad Omen (Part 1)

In the Dushan villa

The air pressure in the room was very low, and the power fluctuations belonging to multiple people were mixed, and none of them could cover the most obvious one.

The dense aura was filled with coldness, wisps of it leaking out from beneath the layers of suppression, and even the air faintly revealed a manic and depressive atmosphere.

A young woman wearing a crimson robe and a ponytail was sitting in the living room, looking intently at the closed door not far away.

If Gu Zhisang were here, she would recognize that this woman was the contestant who participated in the show with her:

Xi Haihong.

Sitting under her was a middle-aged couple.

The two of them were dressed elegantly and well-kept. It was obvious at first glance that they came from wealthy families.

But at this moment, the two of them looked sad and stared at the door with their bodies tensed.

Suddenly there was a tremor in the air, followed by sounds inside the house as if something had been knocked over.

“Xiao Cheng!”

The middle-aged woman stood up nervously, with a look of panic on her beautiful face, and wanted to walk out towards the door.

Seeing this, Xi Haihong hurriedly stopped her and said:

“Mrs. Yan, don’t get excited. My father and Taoist Chang Qin are two ‘earth’ level mystic masters inside. Your son will be fine. They are at the moment of casting spells now. You can’t get close to the room. It might affect them and your son.”

“Qing’an, please sit down first and don’t be nervous. Little Master Xi is right. Yan Cheng will be fine.”

The elegant man next to him spoke to comfort his wife, but his clenched fists and slightly heavy breathing showed that he was not as relaxed as he said.

“But…” Fu Qingan looked panicked, looked at her husband and then at Xi Haihong, and asked softly:

“Miss Xi, my son will be fine, right?”

Xi Haihong nodded hurriedly to appease her emotions, but she felt a little heavy and had no confidence in her affirmation.

In the room just separated by a door, a dragnet and a killing array had already been set up.

Her father, Xi Kui, and Taoist Chang Qin, the master of the Yiyuan Temple, two of the powerful figures in the three major forces of Xuanmen, were also in that room.

Suppressing bad omens and purifying the ‘evil spirit’.

But just now, the ‘evil spirit’ in the air suddenly increased, and there was a faint sign of being out of control.

This showed that Xi Kui and Taoist Chang Qin’s controlling spell hadn’t been completely successful!

Once they are sure that the person with the bad omen will completely lose control and be swallowed up by the evil spirit and turn into a vicious creature, they will activate the large formation in the room to restrain him.

If the situation is serious, the killing formation may be activated.

And this was a scene that no one here wants to see.

It seems that the Yan Family was quite famous in the metaphysics world.

Their ancestors can be traced back seven or eight hundred years ago. It was said that they were once a remote branch of the imperial family of the Yan Kingdom. They may still have some meager imperial blood in their bodies.

Unlike a large metaphysics family like the Xi family, although the Yan family has produced metaphysics masters in the past generations, the talents of those people were average. The most powerful one in the past two hundred years was only at the fifth level of ‘Xuan’.

If it weren’t for the gimmick of being a descendant of the ancient family and the imperial family, the Yan family would no longer have a place in Xuanmen.

In the Xia Country period, which was not long after the end of the war and all kinds of wastes were prosperous, among the young generation of the Yan family at that time, only the first two sons of Mr. Yan were the only ones with some psychic physique who could enter the metaphysics.

Although the youngest son Yan He was smart, he was judged to have no spiritual sense. He has a strong yang fire and no talent in metaphysics at birth. He was an outright ordinary person.

Yan He was not willing to be a waste in Xuanmen, so he decided to do business. He wanted to be a businessman to make a future for himself.

Neither Mr. Yan nor his two elder brothers thought highly of him, and they felt that people from a metaphysics family like them, with their noble status, should not be tainted with the stench of copper.

Unexpectedly, he really started from scratch, earned a huge fortune, became the richest man in Rongcheng City at that time, and completely faded out of Xuanmen.

Originally, the youngest son’s family was supposed to live an ordinary life.

Who would have known that after Yan He got married and gave birth to a child, his eldest son, Yan Cheng would be born with a ‘fierce aura’ soaring to the sky right from his mother’s womb!

Not only did Fu Qingan almost collapse during childbirth, but the evil spirit that could not be restrained even attracted ghosts from hundreds of miles around Rongcheng.

That day, the sky above Rongcheng was filled with gloomy air and hundreds of ghosts were walking at night, which immediately attracted Xuanmen’s attention.

This child was called a ‘bad omen’ by Taoism.

He either did a lot of evil in his previous lives, or he was the reincarnation of a ghost king and general in the underworld, which was why he carried so much evil energy.

At that time, many people in Xuanmen believed that Yan Cheng was a time bomb, and felt that a fragile young child simply could not withstand the torture and erosion of the ‘evil spirit’, and would collapse sooner or later.

To prevent him from being swallowed up by the evil spirit in the future and turning into a vicious creature to cause trouble to the world, they wanted to kill the child directly to avoid future troubles.

But there was also a small group of people who believed that Yan Cheng had not turned into a vicious creature, and they had no right to deprive a child of his life.

Coupled with the pleading of Yan He and his wife, as well as the legal restrictions of the Xia Country that had been perfected at that time, the Xuanmen main killing sect temporarily agreed not to kill Yan Cheng.

But because of his special situation and great danger, Xuanmen requires Yan Cheng to live under the control of the three major forces.

Once Yan Cheng loses control, the Xuanmen have the right to kill him directly.

Before the age of ten, Yan Cheng had been in the three major families of Xuanmen.

Xi Haihong had met this Yan Family’s eldest son when she was a child, and her meager impression of him was that he was silent and miserable.

Although the head of the family, Xi Kui, strictly prohibited the family members from bullying Yan Cheng, she had seen many cousins in the branch secretly calling him a monster and telling him to die.

This was the case within the Xi family of the Zhuhe sect. It was even more conceivable how difficult his life was in the Qianqing sect, which strongly urged his death among the three major families.

Xi Haihong heard her parents chatting and said that there were even people in the Qianqing sect who deliberately bullied Yan Cheng, trying to anger him and make him lose control.

Even so, Yan Cheng, who was carrying the ‘evil spirit’, still endured all the hardships.

He has not lost control once in ten years.

When Yan Cheng was ten years old, the Qianqing Sect had to admit that the child had good self-control, no matter how unwilling he was, and they had no reason to detain him anymore.

Since then, although Yan Cheng still lived under the supervision of Xuanmen, he finally returned to the Yan family.

Later, Xi Haihong heard nothing about this person.

It was several years later when she heard about it again. According to her father Xi Kui, Yan Cheng had shown excellent business acumen like his father at a young age and was simply a business genius.

Based on Yan He’s original work, he expanded the Yan Group’s territory to the international market in just over ten years, with top technologies in many fields.

Now he was no longer the child whose fate could be arranged by Xuanmen at will.

Even if his situation gets worse day by day, no matter how hard the elders of Xuanmen try, no one dares to touch him easily, let alone kill him. They can only try their best to purify the evil spirit in his body.

Because Yan Cheng was closely related to the Yan Group, if he dies, the business community of Xia Country and hundreds of thousands of Yan Group’s employees across the country and even around the world will be affected.

The reason why Taoists Chang Qin and Xi Kui were alarmed at the same time was that the array placed in Yan Cheng’s home to detect the ‘evil spirit’ sensed extremely strong stimulation.

It means that the evil aura in Yan Cheng’s body was out of control again, and it was several times more dangerous than before.

The two hurried over, set up a large formation, and entered the room. It had been more than an hour since they came out.

Yan He and Fu Qingan, the couple who received the news during this period, also dropped their work and hurried back.

Fu Qingan turned pale, held her husband’s hand tightly, and murmured: “Didn’t Master Chang Qin say that there is a treasure that can purify evil spirits?”

Xi Haihong pursed her lips and said nothing.

That thing does exist, but they were not in Xuanmen.
