Chapter 70: Possession (Part 1)

After hearing the whole story of the Weasel Immortal’s possession, the live broadcast room was in an uproar.

[This is considered animal cruelty. Don’t say that the child is young and ignorant. He is at the age of four. If he isn’t educated well at an early age, his parents won’t discipline him when he does wrong things, he will grow crookedly in the future!]

[Damn, the old lady has never been willing to eat meat. But she had to treat the trampled chicken as a dish. This made me cry. What a pitiful old lady. It was not her fault, but she was almost killed by an unfilial family.]

[Tsk…can such an unfilial son be punished? It’s shameless for people who plunder the elderly’s money. They are not as conscientious as the animal.]

[If you want revenge, you can retaliate against the right person. That spirit should let the naughty kid who smashed the little chicken suffer some pain, not the innocent old lady. What kind of patron saint is this ‘chicken ghost’?]

[……]

The person involved, ‘Cat Cafe‘, clenched her fists and trembled slightly: “How could they do this?!”

Just because they were afraid of being blamed by the family, they hid the actual situation of her grandma’s condition. Isn’t this delaying treatment?

What if this ‘Weasel Immortal’ hadn’t received Grandma’s favor and possessed her to suppress the ‘Chicken Ghost’? Would they only watch the old lady’s condition get worse day by day?

The ‘Cat Cafe‘ couldn’t accept it both emotionally and rationally, not to mention that the person who did these things was her biological uncle and grandma’s biological son!

The Weasel Immortal, who was possessed by the old lady, laughed, covered her mouth and said:

“You, descendants, say you would be filial to the elderly, but in reality. Guess what? No one cares about this old grandma. It’s not like you don’t know that her youngest son is lazy. I don’t believe you believe that this family takes care of her well.”

“If you have filial piety, why didn’t you take the old lady away?”

As a Weasel Immortal, it often travels between farmers’ fields, and it has lived on this land longer than most people in the village.

It knows every farmer and knows the secrets of every family.

Who had an affair with whom, which man had an affair, or lost the house in a bet… It knew all this. And this old lady, Cat Cafe‘s grandmother, watched her get married, have children, have grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

What it didn’t tell ‘Cat Cafe‘ was that it had a good relationship with her grandma much earlier.

When the old lady was still a new daughter-in-law who married into this village, the Weasel Immortal could not possess people and could not speak human words. She was just a little spirit who had just opened her sea of consciousness and started cultivating a spiritual practice.

On the night of the wedding reception, it secretly ate the unfinished roast chicken in the kitchen of this family. As a result, its hind legs were caught on a mouse board and the pots and pans were knocked to the floor.

When the male owner of the house heard the noise, he thought his home had been robbed, so he hurried over. When he saw its injured legs and feet, he picked up a kitchen knife and chopped it to death.

It was the bride who was still wearing a red coat who stopped him and said, “The Weasel Immortal is spiritual. Just give it some leftovers to eat. Don’t shout and kill it, so it won’t take revenge.” ’

The man of the house hummed: “The Weasel Immortal, it’s all fake. They are just yellow rats. If you peel them off, you can make a pair of gloves.” ’

In the end, the bride persuaded the man again and again.

She unclipped the weasel, which was shivering in pain, and put it outside the house by the back of its neck. After thinking about it, she placed half of the roast chicken at the weasel’s feet and whispered:

‘Today is my big day. This is like me treating you to a meal. If you are spiritual, take it and leave. Originally, when you were caught stealing food, my man should have beat you to death, but I stopped him. If you can remember my kindness, don’t hold a grudge, and don’t take revenge on him…’

The Weasel Immortal bared its teeth and screamed at the bride. After a while, it limped into the field with the roast chicken in its mouth.

Later, when it passed by occasionally, it could see the woman cooking at home, raising chickens and ducks, and working in the fields… Her man had a very bad temper, but she was not annoyed even if he cursed her at every turn. She only served him obediently.

The Weasel Immortal felt that this woman was too weak. If anyone dared to scold it like this, it would bite off the other person’s head.

Later, the woman gave birth to several children, and the man died of illness. She raised the children painfully by herself. From a girl to an old lady, her skin changed from clean and smooth to full of wrinkles and spots.

Some of the children she gave birth to were careless. Among them, the youngest son was a well-known gangster in the village.

The Weasel Immortal originally thought that its friendship with this woman would end there.

It will have a long life, will cultivate deep Taoism, and finally become a real immortal;

That peasant woman will live a mediocre life and be buried under the soil with all her injuries and fatigue.

As a result, one day, the Weasel Immortal killed a field mouse near her house, held it in its mouth, and planned to take it back to the hole to enjoy. It happened to meet the old lady who went up the mountain to collect mushrooms.

The old lady was very excited when she saw itself and made a tut-tsk sound from her mouth as if calling a dog.

The Weasel Immortal stopped and wanted to see what this stupid old lady wanted to do. Unexpectedly, the other party still remembered itself:

‘Are you spiritual too? I saw a Weasel Immortal like you decades ago, with a tuft of white hair on the tip of its tail. Are you its descendant?’

The Weasel Immortal snorted and left with the field mouse in its mouth.

But during the Spring Festival of that year, it once again returned to the earthen house where it had injured its leg and almost died. This time, the old lady had become the eldest person in the family and could take charge of her chickens.

Every year after that, the Weasel Immortal would visit the family’s chicken pen and pick out the fattest chicken.

The gangster boy back then became a well-known lazy man in the village, playing mahjong in the village all day long.

The Weasel Immortal saw him coming to the old house with a playful smile several times, asking her seventy-year-old mother to ask for money, but the confused old lady gave it to him every time.

The money she made by scrimping and selling scraps was lost on the gambling table by her unfilial son.

The Weasel Immortal hated that iron could not become steel, but it felt that as a cultivator, it could not interfere in human affairs, otherwise it would ruin its conduct.

It wasn’t until the old lady was possessed by a ‘chicken ghost’ some time ago that she suffered from vomiting, diarrhea, and colic, so it entered the old lady’s body to suppress the ‘chicken ghost’.

The Weasel Immortal, who couldn’t accept the old lady’s suffering, gave the unfilial son and his family a good torment.

Now that it saw the old lady’s granddaughter, she wasn’t angry either.

After being scolded by the Weasel Immortal, ‘Cat Cafe‘ was not angry.

She felt a little heavy: What the ‘Weasel Immortal’ said made sense.

Including her father, Grandma gave birth to several children in total. They all lived in the city, and no one among them was very determined to take Grandma out here to enjoy happiness.

However, her grandmother was unwilling to go out because she was afraid of causing trouble to her children, thinking that urban consumption was high, etc…

But the most important thing was that they wanted to avoid this trouble. They think that giving Grandma some money was considered support.

After thinking for a long time, ‘Cat Cafe’ solemnly said: “You are right. I will take Grandma away after this matter is resolved. Thank you very much! Otherwise, grandma…”

At this moment, bursts of noise came from outside the old house, mixed with the sound of a woman crying:

“Oh my goodness, are we not good enough for my mother? I come to see her every 2 days…”

Cat Cafe‘ heard the noise and walked to the door of the house, only to see a group of villagers walking towards it. Among them, the woman who cried the loudest was short and fat, telling the East side how filial her family was, and complaining to the West side about injustice.

The person behind her who was shrinking his neck and echoing was her little uncle.

Seeing the ‘Cat Cafe‘, the woman took the initiative, pointed at her, and shouted: “Fourth niece, how can you tell lies about your uncle and aunt? You said that our youngest family is not good to my mother. You are killing our whole family!”

Her brother also said with a straight face: “You are such a shameless girl. You only know how to talk. It’s a shame that I gave you money to buy candies when you’re still a child.”
