Chapter 83: Screensaver to ward off evil (Part 1)

Gu Zhisang: “How do you feel? Are you feeling better?”

Hearing her slightly cold voice, Yan Cheng suddenly came back to his senses.

He subconsciously retracted his palm. Sensing his intention, Gu Zhisang pressed it slightly harder and said in a cold voice:

“Don’t move yet, the evil spirit on your body can still be resolved.”

At this time, Yan Cheng discovered that the comfortable and warm current in the dream was not his imagination. His body did not feel as painful and numb as before.

Having been tortured and corroded by the ‘evil spirits’ for many years, he has long been accustomed to enduring pain. He works, eats, and deals with various problems without changing his face in severe pain.

For a long time, the meaning of his life was just to live.

After emerging from this torture, Yan Cheng felt a little at a loss.

Gu Zhisang looked up at him and asked: “Did the evil spirit in you come from your mother’s womb?”

Yan Cheng lowered his eyes and responded.

Gu Zhisang thoughtfully said: “Then you are quite capable of carrying it and have a strong will.”

This was true. Many mystic masters try to save energy and take crooked ways when advancing, and they easily develop evil spirits.

Many people live life not much worse than Yan Cheng, who was in serious and long-term pain, but they couldn’t bear it and almost went crazy.

She had an intuition that there should be something special about the fate or soul of this young man in front of her. After thinking about it, she asked politely:

“Can you let me see your soul?”

Yan Cheng didn’t know what she wanted to do. He was now nervous due to various emotions, and his body muscles were slightly tense.

Before his brain could make a judgment, he nodded.

The next moment, he watched helplessly as Gu Zhisang, who was already sitting cross-legged beside him, leaned forward two points closer again, stretched out her slender, jade-like fingers, and touched the center of his eyebrows.

Yan Cheng suddenly closed his eyes.

When his eyelashes flutter slightly, they sweep out a light shadow on the small mole under the eyelid.

He could feel a cooling force spreading along his forehead.

He held his breath, and all the sensitivity of his five senses was focused on the small dot touched by Gu Zhisang’s fingertips at this moment.

Although Yan Cheng himself has been involved in the “Omen” scandal since he was a child, and was detained for ten years in the three Taoist Sect, he knew better than anyone that there was another side to this world.

There was a higher world above ordinary people.

But for a long time, Yan Cheng has not been afraid of ghosts and gods.

This was true even though he had nightmares every night about being haunted by the most ferocious evil spirits.

At this moment, he experienced the mysterious feeling for the first time – as if his soul had been penetrated.

His whole person was looked at from head to toe.

Gu Zhisang slightly raised an eyebrow in surprise.

According to the plot provided by the system, the character of the male protagonist’s brother who died young in the book in the original text was cold and difficult, completely like an iceberg.

He moved out early and started living alone almost from a very early age. His relationship with the male protagonist Yan Xugui was more polite than family.

Gu Zhisang originally thought that it would be more difficult to deal with such people, but she didn’t expect Yan Cheng to unexpectedly…

Obedient.

When ordinary people are invaded by external forces, or even have their important and fragile souls broken, they will involuntarily develop resistance.

Yan Cheng had no intention of resisting at all.

He had a pair of rather cold eyes, and he controlled himself obediently, allowing Gu Zhisang’s power to invade.

After reading it for about once, Gu Zhisang put down her hand.

“It’s strange… I don’t see anything special. These ‘evil spirits’ are attached to the depths of your soul, but this is the strangest thing.”

Yan Cheng’s soul was very ordinary and very calm, with almost no negative emotions at all, and no evil power from his previous life could be seen in him.

But the more normal it was, the more people cared about it.

Because normal people couldn’t have such a strong ‘evil spirit’, and they could not bear it.

Gu Zhisang’s fingertips moved slightly and reached down to grab Yan Cheng’s wrist.

Pressing twice on the inner side of the young man’s wrist where the tendons were slightly obvious, she raised her head and looked at him:

“The beating frequency of your heart is a little abnormal. Are you still feeling uncomfortable? It shouldn’t be… I have at least eliminated 40-50% of the evil spirits around you. There seems to be some problem with your breathing. Are your organs damaged by the evil spirits?”

After she asked, the pulse of her wrist under her fingertips became more obviously disordered.

Yan Cheng didn’t know why, but his heart was beating fast.

Gu Zhisang looked confused. When she looked up, she found that the young man’s expressionless face was covered with a thin layer of red.

She frowned and said: “It seems that if the evil spirit is not eliminated, it will still have an impact.”

“It’s like this. I can indeed get rid of the evil spirits on your body, but I can’t resolve so much this time. We can make an appointment to meet next week and I will help you get rid of it again.”

Thinking that Yan Cheng’s evil aura was increasing day by day, which meant that after he resolved it, he might be attacked again and be haunted by the evil spirits, Gu Zhisang added:

“Whether it will relapse and what the cause of the evil spirit is will probably only be known through comparison next time.”

After a pause, Gu Zhisang raised two fingers and said:

“Besides that, I have two other requirements. First, I don’t want a third person to know about this, so you have to keep it secret. Second, the reward must be paid. This is the rule of the world.”

“The first one is particularly important. If you leak the news to the Taoist Sect, I will not help you expel the evil spirit. I would like you to make up lies until you recover.”

Although her tone was very rude, Yan Cheng’s face did not show any unpleasant look.

At this moment, the door was pushed open from the outside.

The person was a Taoist Master.

He was offering sacrifices to a compass with a jade talisman on it. It was obvious that he came in with the protective formation activated and fully armed.

And then can see other people behind him, such as Yan Lang and the anxious Yan couple.

People outside heard that there had been no movement inside for too long, and concluded that Gu Zhisang must have been invaded by the evil spirit inside and something happened.

After someone mentioned it, everyone asked to come in and take a look at the situation.

Who would have thought that what they would see when they opened the door was not that Gu Zhisang passed out on the ground with a purple face, but that she was sitting on the stool next to Yan Cheng’s bed.

Yan Cheng, who was supposed to be on the verge of death and fell into a coma, was now sitting on the bed.

Such an unexpected scene immediately stunned all the Taoist Masters.

“This……?”

Yan He and Fu Qingan, who were originally behind the Taoist masters, saw their eldest son sitting up again. They immediately squeezed from behind the Taoist Masters to the front with excitement.

“A’Cheng!”

Seeing his parents, Yan Chengcai suddenly pulled out his wrist, pursed his lips, and said: “Dad, Mom.”

Fu Qingan threw herself on him and choked with sobs: “I thought you wouldn’t be able to survive this time! Where else are you feeling uncomfortable now?”

“Sorry for making you worry.”

Yan Xugui also walked in, first glanced at Gu Zhisang on the stool, and then said: “Brother, are you okay?”

Yan Cheng responded lightly.

At this time, a mysterious master’s voice sounded full of doubts: “This is incredible, how on earth did you do it?!”

The target of the question was naturally Gu Zhisang.

  1. What exactly is Yan Cheng keeping secret from the Taoist Sect—that Gu Zhisang can eliminate the evil spirits in him quickly? It would be pretty obvious when she goes there and then the evil aura surrounding his body dissipates significantly after her departure.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
