Chapter 24: The Farmer and Snake (Part 1)

“Mom, are you here?!”

Following Gu Zhisang’s line of sight, Liu Jin suddenly turned his head to look at his side and stretched out his hands tentatively.

He couldn’t see or touch anything, but at this moment he seemed to be connected to some kind of telepathy, and the tears flowed even more fiercely.

From the perspective that only Gu Zhisang could see, she saw the gray-black evil spirit floating beside Liu Jin, trying to respond to Liu Jin’s touch.

But as soon as it got close to Liu Jin, its soul trembled as if it was suffering severe pain.

Gu Zhisang frowned slightly and exhaled softly in Liu Jin’s direction.

This ‘spiritual qi’ carried her power, covering Liu Jin’s body like an invisible net, and the three spiritual fires on his head and shoulders suddenly dimmed a lot and turned green.

Now the evil spirit’s soul no longer trembled violently and was able to touch Liu Jin’s body.

Liu Jin only felt that the temperature in the room dropped suddenly, and became a little bit chilly.

The scene in front of him became gray as if a layer of gray gauze blocked his eyes.

After rubbing his eyes hard, his pupils squinted in shock, because he saw a gray human figure!

“Is that you, Mom?!”

Liu Jin grabbed it with his hands, and when his fingers touched the gray mist, it was like being pricked by a freezing ice pick.

He was not afraid but looked at Gu Zhisang expectantly.

Gu Zhisang nodded and said: “This is your mother’s soul.”

A strong ghost can condense into a solid body, with extremely heavy yin energy, which can make people with light horoscopes and weak yang energy see ghosts, commonly known as “bumping ghosts”.

After bumping into ghosts, these people were often affected by yin energy, persistent high fever or vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, the three souls and seven souls will be knocked out of the body, which was what the folks call lost souls. When that happened, it was necessary to call shamans as a medium to ‘call out the soul’.

After the soul returns to the body, one has to invigorate Qi and strengthen Yang.

But on the contrary, if the ghost was too weak, it would be afraid of the living, especially any man with strong yang energy.

Once a ghost gets close to it, it will be burned by Yang energy and its soul will be injured.

Liu Jin’s mother was this kind of weak ghost. She doesn’t even have sanity and substance, and she may disappear at any time.

Judging from Liu Jin’s face, he has the kind of yang energy fate, it will be even more painful for Liu’s mother to approach him.

Even so, it still chose to stay by her child’s side, and its obsession was not uncommon.

After explaining, Gu Zhisang continued: “I just covered the spiritual fire on your body, sealed all the yang energy, and temporarily turned you into a yin physique, so you can see the ghost in the room. Also, so that it can get close to you.”

“Thank you, Master.”

In just one hour, Liu Jin’s attitude towards Gu Zhisang completely changed, and he changed his name to Master.

He even regretted his perfunctory attitude when they met just now.

Gu Zhisang said: “One more thing, I have to remind you that your mother’s fate is good. She donated a lot of money to do good deeds during her lifetime. Even if she stays in the world after death, she should have the merits of her life to protect her body. She can’t form into shape, but she won’t be so easily hurt by the yang energy on your body.”

Liu Jin realized something, “You mean…”

“You should ask you’re good father what else he did behind your back while you were away.”

His red eyes slowly turned to the sofa in the living room and looked at his father, who was so frightened that his feet softened.

Father Liu was already sweating profusely.

He has been regretting it since that day. Every night, when he closed his eyes, he would think of his wife’s eyes staring at him with anger and resentment when she was lying on the floor crying and struggling.

Coupled with the strange things that happened at the funeral and the inexplicably cracked tombstone, his psychological defense was completely broken.

He was so scared, he knew that his wife had turned into a ghost and come to ask for his life!

Father Liu was afraid of death, and even more afraid that what he had done would be revealed, so while Liu Jin was not at home, he recruited some Taoist Masters to secretly drive away ghosts and evil spirits.

In addition, he also bought many amulets and put related objects and exorcism talismans in the living room of his home.

Those Taoist Masters told him that his wife’s dead soul was still unwilling to leave, but it had been weakened a lot and could not harm him anymore.

However, he was still worried, and in the end, he spent a lot of money to hire a well-known Taoist Master, hoping that the other party would directly break up his wife’s dead soul, to avoid future troubles.

Who knew that the so-called master was simply an embroidered pillow, and he was beaten and vomited blood by the girl invited by Liu Jun?

Hearing Gu Zhisang’s words, and seeing his son crying and hugging against the air, Father Liu felt that this room was eerie. He also felt that the dark coffin in the living room was like an evil ghost staring at him, and would pounce on him at any time!

He crawled backward on the floor, wanting to escape from the house: “She was sick and died of her illness, it has nothing to do with me!”

Gu Zhisang squinted her phoenix eyes, thought for a while, and took out a thumb-sized jade bottle from her pocket.

After opening the mouth of the bottle, a gloomy air escaped from it, and a crystal clear teardrop was placed at the bottom of the bottle.

This was the ghost tear she got from Gao Lin, which contains strong resentment and strength.

She split the ghost tear into two, took out half of it, and popped it into the ghost’s body. Not long after, the ghost’s body swelled, and the surrounding temperature became even lower.

In just a few seconds, Mother Liu’s injured ghost body solidified under the filling of ghost tears, gradually revealing a human form.

She looked like forty or fifty years old. She was well-maintained during her lifetime. Although there was white hair on the sideburns and wrinkles on her face, it can still be seen that she looked young and magnificent.

Mother Liu was bewildered, and when her mind gradually came to her senses, her eyes were filled with surprise when she looked at Liu Jin.

When her eyes fell on the panic-stricken man in the corner, her expression suddenly became resentful and ferocious, and she pounced on him.

Because of a guilty conscience, Father Liu couldn’t eat well, couldn’t sleep, and so his spirit was weak.

Later, he was frightened by Gu Zhisang so he was sweating profusely. His yang energy was at its weakest, so he was directly hit by the yin energy from Mother Liu’s body, which opened his yin eyes, and saw the ghost!

His wife’s dead face was distorted and terrifying. She pressed her face to his face: “You bastard, as I said, even if I become a ghost, I won’t let you go!”

Father Liu’s face was as pale as the paper. His fat and aging cheeks trembled with fear: “No… I didn’t hurt you! It was her, it was that bitch who refused to let me save you… I was wrong Dong Ying, I knew I was wrong. Please forgive me!”

He admitted his mistakes and begged for mercy, but he took out the talisman of exorcism and protection from his clothes and kept waving it to disperse Dong Ying’s ghost.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you! You are sick! I just didn’t give you medicine, it’s because you are angry… Get out! Don’t come near me!”

But with Gu Zhisang, coupled with the powerful power of the ghost tears, the talismans in his hand were directly burned by yin energy and turned into scorched black ashes.

Dong Ying’s eyes were bloodshot, and she jumped on him and bit him.

The feeling of being attacked by the ghost was extremely uncomfortable. Father Liu’s blood clotted all over his body, and his heart was beating like it was about to explode.

He rolled his eyes and didn’t even cry out, he just fell to the floor in a daze, with water stains overflowing from his two legs. He lost control of himself due to fright.

Dong Ying said with resentment, “Don’t pretend to be dead, I won’t let you go! Not only have you disgusted me all these years, you even turned your mind on my son. You’re not worthy of being a father! You deserve to die!”

Gu Zhisang, who has been holding her arms silently, said:

“He’s probably not pretending, he had a stroke.”

Stroke?

Dong Ying, Liu Jin, and Yu Tongqiu were all stunned.

After taking a closer look at Father Liu, they found his mouth was slanted and drooling.

He was already old enough to drink alcohol recklessly, but he also messed around a lot. His body had already been hollowed out.
